About

Spiritual direction is the tool we use to help you rebuild your faith.

Why? Because spiritual direction teaches you how to hold space and be a safe place. To understand what love is and who God is to you. First for yourself and then for others. It’s the new way forward to a transformed faith and a healthier church.

Our guiding principles are Compassion, Curiosity, Listening and Love. All of our work embodies these values.

If this sounds like the safe space you need, we’d love to help you rebuild.

Dr. Beth Broadbooks, Cofounder

The fancy stuff:

  • Bachelor of Arts, Southeastern University

  • Master of Divinity, Sioux Falls Seminary

  • Doctor of Ministry, Kairos University

  • Certified Spiritual Director (Listening People to Life, Kairos University)

The fun stuff:

I’m a California native (west coast best coast) and found myself in the tundra of Sioux Falls, with the expectation of staying one year that turned to 7. I’m married to my partner of 6 years, and together we have 3 beautiful children. I’m a huge fan of kombucha, post-apocalyptic television shows, and digging through thrift stores for magical treasures. I also fully believe unicorns are real.

 Statement of belief

Our work is rooted in contemplative prayer practices that deepen our understanding of ourselves, God, and others. We honor orthodox, creedal Christianity and affirm the Nicene Creed.

While affirming orthodox Christianity, spiritual listening requires a willingness to hold space for differing ways of seeing, and so we affirm unity over uniformity. We seek to be a safe space to ask questions, tell stories, and explore spiritual practices to deepen and redefine faith, and so we will welcome all voices to the table that uphold human dignity and speak with gentleness and respect.
